Sculpture
It is natural to be Invigorated by forms and shapes; There is something intrinsically empowering about a mountain that juts upward to the sky or voluminous cumulous clouds on the horizon. To sculpt is traipsing in a realm of creation that the Gods masterfully take pleasure in. Sculpting is the process of bringing forth something ordered and beautiful in a 3D context. A lump of clay is reformed, the carving stone is transformed. By adding or subtracting matter we are able to manipulate shapes that represent human forms in lyrical gestures. The art historian Roger Scruton said, “The human form is sacred for us because it bears the stamp of our embodiment.” It is rewarding to encapsulate a representation of our immortal soul sculptural form and celebrate our human existence.
