Laura Lee Stay<\/span><\/h1>\n

Acclaimed Sculptor presently residing in Saratoga Springs, Utah. Born in California, LauraLee moved to Utah at age nineteen to attend BYU, where she completed a BFA and MFA in Art.\u00a0 Bronze is her main medium. In the last five\u00a0 years\u00a0 she has\u00a0 begun to carve marble, learning from master carver Christian Lange in Italy. For several months a year LauraLee carves Carrera marble in Pietra Santa, Italy.<\/p>\n

She is a classical figurative artist. Themes of celebration and belief in humanity run through her work. Among her notable works are Martha Hughes Cannon, an eight-foot bronze displayed at the Utah State Capitol, Acanthus Child, a six-foot figure displayed at the University of Utah Medical Center,\u00a0 Rex Lee Figure at the BYU Law School as well as several sculptures on display at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City. LauraLee has taught art at Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University and American Heritage Academy Grades K – 12.\u00a0 She is a mother of four children.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_single_image image=”1596″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\n

Laura Lee’s large-scale works can be seen at the University of Utah Medical School in Salt Lake City, Utah; the School for the Deaf and Blind in Ogden, Utah; Heritage Park in Parowan, Utah; the town square in Monroe, Louisiana; the Utah State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City, Utah; Mt Rushmore Replica at Trafalga in Lehi, Utah; and the Egyptian statues at the Luxor in Las Vegas, Nevada. Smaller pieces are in the Utah State Arts collection, Utah; the Springville Museum of Art in Springville, Utah; the LDS Church Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in the Utah Arts Council collection.
